Stacey
Jump - President: My
family and I have been living in Jarrettsville for 13 years and we
absolutely LOVE it. Having grown up by the water, I never thought the
country would be the place for me, but I love the beautiful landscape
and wide open spaces. I have been on the board for five years, this
being my first year as president. We love NHSC because it is a great
place to come with the kids to enjoy a hot summer day.
Rick
Stevenson - Past President:
I am a long time Harford county resident having lived in the North
Harford area since I was a child. My family and I joined North Harford
Swim Club in 1999 and I became a board member in 2003. I have served the
club in various positions and look forward to serving another term
as President. My two daughters, Katie and Lauren, have been lifeguards
for the club for several years. Having the time to spend working with my
daughters has been special to me. I have met some life time friends at
NHSC and I hope to meet several more! NHSC is a place for family to
enjoy the summer months and as a board member it makes me feel good to
help out.
Mark Winn - VP Operations:
I have been living in Jarrettsville with my wife Heather and 2 children
for almost 7 years. We have been members of the club for approximately 5
years. Our daughter Madison, who is 6 years old, is on the swim team and
has been swimming since she was a baby. Emory is one of the young swim
team cheerleaders, at 3 years old, and is just waiting for his turn to
be on the team! My background, for the past 17 years, is in business
management. Prior to that I worked at a swim club and worked my way up
from snack bar employee to club supervisor. I was in charge of pre and
post season preparations. My family and I are looking forward to another
great season at the pool and I am looking forward to serving on the
board at NHSC.
Gary Weininger - Assistant Operations:
I am a 2nd generation NHSC member. My family was an original bond
member during the swim club’s inaugural season. My wife Kathy and I
moved back to Jarrettsville in 1999 and we have been members since. My
background is in the swimming pool construction and equipment industry.
I have served on the NHSC board since 2002 and I look forward to the
continuing my responsibilities of Operations. I’ll be working on daily
and seasonal operations, capital improvements, and volunteer
coordination.
Greg
Pappas - Secretary:
I was raised in
Harford County and attended North
Harford High School. My wife Nancy and I have lived in Norrisville for
nearly 16 years. Our 3 boys, William, Nicholas and Christopher attend
Norrisville Elementary School and they have been members of the North
Harford Neptunes
swim team since they were 5 years old.
We have been members of North Harford Swim
Club for 7 years and spend as much time there as possible during
the summer months. My background is information technology and I have
been a project manager in the field for the last 5 years. This is my
second term with the NHSC Board and I am proud to represent our club
members along with a terrific group of dedicated volunteers.
Valarie Klein - Treasurer:
My name is Valarie Klein and I have been a
member of North Harford Swim Club for eight years. I keep very busy but
don’t work for money (unless you count substitute teaching). My husband,
Rocky Powell, is a self-employed environmental consultant. My son, Cody
Powell, is an 11-year-old sixth grader at North Harford Middle at this
writing. My personal reason for joining the board is that I get great
satisfaction from giving back to the community, and I’m happy to have
the opportunity to do so. I don’t get to the pool as often as I did when
Cody was younger, but you can still occasionally find me poolside with a
good book (or maybe with my new Nook!).
Shelby Holman - Assistant
Treasurer:
My family moved here in
February 2008
from Richmond, Virginia and joined NHSC in 2009 after visiting several
times in 2008. The pool is a great place to spend the summer with two
young boys. I am a University of Richmond graduate (Go Spiders!) and
look forward to using my accounting skills to assist the Treasurer.
Kristine
Bagrosky - Swim Lessons:
I have lived in Jarrettsville for almost 10 years. I have 2 wonderful
kids, Nick and Jamie, who enjoy every minute they spend at the
swim club. I am looking forward to
spending many more years at the pool with
friends and family.
Michele
Amrhein - Membership:
A lifelong North Harford resident, I
was raised in Norrisville. My husband and I have lived in Jarrettsville
for the past 10 years. Our son, Jake, attends North Bend Elementary and
our daughter, Jenna, attends Lil Hawks Pre-school at NHHS. We joined
NHSC in August 2008 after falling in love with the club after visiting
several times as guests. Where else can your family cool off during the
hot summer days while enjoying the company of new and old friends from
the North Harford community? I cannot think of a better place!
Steve
Melick– Swim Team: My wife Wendy and I have lived in
Harford County since 1998. We have 3 kids ages 7, 9, and 11 and spend a
lot of time running to and from all of their activities. I pay my bills
by splitting atoms to make electricity at Peach Bottom. We have been
NHSC members since 2007 and this past year was our first season of
Summer swimming with the Neptunes. I am looking forward to working with
the dedicated swim team volunteers to make the upcoming North Harford
Neptunes season the best one yet.
Steve Zang - Family Activities:
My wife Jaime & I live in Monkton with our 2 sons, Ethan 6 &
Brendan 3. We enjoy our summers at the swim club. This will be our 4th
year. This past year we encouraged four new families to join. They
also love the club. As a child I was a member at the swim club. I am
looking forward to an exciting year at the club with some great family
activities.
Jeff
Kuzemchak - PR/Communication:
My wife Amy and I moved to Harford County 16 years ago from Fells Point.
We have three children ages 7 through 12 along with a wide variety of
pets. The swim club has been our local get-away for about 6 years and we
thoroughly enjoy the community feeling among members. Thanks to all who
have made NHSC what it is today.
