North Harford Swim Club     Board of Directors 2008

Rick Stevenson – President: I am a long time Harford county resident having lived in the North Harford area since I was a child. My family and I joined North Harford Swim Club in 1999 and I became a board member in 2003. I have served the club in various positions and look forward to serving another term as President. My two daughters, Katie and Lauren, have been lifeguards for the club for several years. Having the time to spend working with my daughters has been special to me. I have met some life time friends at NHSC and I hope to meet several more!   NHSC is a place for family to enjoy the summer months and as a board member it makes me feel good to help out.

Scott Wehage – Past President:  This season will be my fifth on the board. However, my relationship with the pool dates back to its humble beginnings over 30 years ago when my family joined the North Harford Swim Club in the spring of 1973 when it first opened.  I remember standing on the steps at the three-foot end on opening day waiting for the guards to blow the whistle. I was five years old. In those days, North Harford Swim Club was where my friends and I (including Gary Weininger) spent nearly every day of our summer vacations. I cannot recall many summer vacations of my childhood without remembering long, hot days spent at the pool. The pool was our place to exercise, socialize and work. Gary and I also worked as lifeguards at the pool when we were teenagers. I have two children of my own and I would like them to enjoy such fond memories when they are my age. My family and I
now live in Bel Air off of Red Pump road, but my roots are still in Jarrettsville! I hope that you and your family will enjoy the pool as
much as I have over the years.

Gary Weininger – VP Operations:  I am a 2nd generation NHSC member.  My family was an original bond member during the swim club’s inaugural season. My wife Kathy and I moved back to Jarrettsville in 1999 and we have been members since. My background is in the swimming pool construction and equipment industry. I have served on the NHSC board since 2002 and I look forward to the continuing my responsibilities of Operations.  I’ll be working on daily and seasonal operations, capital improvements, and volunteer coordination.

Janine Lis – Communications A native New Yorker, I moved to Harford County in 2000 with my two children, Viola and Jack.  I am the Marketing Manager for the Harford County Public Library.  We love this community, especially the NHSC.  The atmosphere at the pool is relaxed and inviting and I look forward to serving on the board this coming season.

Joyce Porter – PlanningI have lived in Jarrettsville for 22 years with my husband Les. We have a daughter Cory and a son John and have been members of the North Harford Swim Club for 12 years.    My children have gone through all levels of the swim lessons at the club and have also been on the swim team.  As a family we also enjoy camping and going to the beach. I am looking forward to working on the pool board again this year and helping in anyway that I can.  Members can help too by volunteering. Please contact me if you would like to help out.  See you at the pool!

Michelle Levey - Treasurer:  I moved to Maryland from Pittsburgh about ten years ago and have lived in Jarrettsville with my husband, Todd, and our children, Jack and Kate, since 2003.  My background is in accounting and I’m looking forward to serving as Treasurer for NHSC.  My family spends a lot of time at the swim club and we are really excited for the upcoming changes.

Cathy Chamberlain – Treasurer Assistant: As I enter my second year serving on the Board as Treasurer, I am excited for the up-coming summer season.  I have lived in Harford County since 1980 and reside in Forest Hill with my husband and children.  My current management position and consulting work enables me to escape once in a while to join my family and friends along side the NHSC pool.  I hope to see all of you there and be a part of this great community.

Stacey Jump  Secretary :  My family and I have been living in Jarrettsville for 10 years and we absolutely LOVE it.  Having grown up by the water, I never thought the country would be the place for me, but I love the beautiful landscape and wide open spaces.   I have been on the board for three years, this being my second year as the membership chair.  We love NHSC because it is a great place to come with the kids to enjoy a hot summer day.

Jim Welsh – Asst. Operations:  Raised in this area, I now live in White Hall with Michele and our three children. Our oldest, Megan, is a senior at University of South Carolina.  Josh and Michaela are at Jarrettsville Elementary.  Both my wife and I are involved with the local football rec. and love our community. My background is in the environmental and construction field. I am looking forward to the upcoming season and doing whatever obligation NHSC asks of me.

Robin Carnivale – Swim Lessons:  Originally from New Jersey, I moved to Maryland in 1996. My husband Mike and I live in Street and have two daughters, Abbey and Jessica who are students at St. Joan of Arc in Aberdeen. I have recently returned to the workforce as a Secretary for our Church. We joined the pool in 2005 and decided to volunteer since we enjoy the pool so much. I think it is a wonderful place for our children to spend the summer.

Laura Pattison – Family Activities:  This is my second year serving on the NHSC board.  I am having fun doing this job, if you could not tell last year!  My family and I have been members of the pool for 5 years. I get to organize all of the fun events for the members of the pool.  Please check our new website for the Calendar of Events or the bulletin board by the front office.  I am planning lots of events for the pool this summer; oldies but goodies and some new events too!
