President’s Message:
January 29th, 2010
Dear NHSC
members:
In looking forward to the 2010 season, I would like to thank everyone
who worked so hard to make 2009 such a great year.I would like to
personally thank Rick Stevenson for his dedicated service to NHSC over
the years. Rick is certainly leaving some mighty big shoes to fill as
he steps down from the President position.
Amanda Koss who has done such a terrific job over the last few years
has agreed to continue managing the club. We are fortunate to have such
a knowledgeable and competent club manager.
The 2009-2010 NHSC leadership has been proposed and voted upon.
Thankfully, Rick Stevenson has agreed to remain as Past President and
Gary Weininger will stay on as Assistant Operations. Michelle Levey
will continue to help manage our finances as Assistant Treasurer, and
Valarie Klein will assume the role of Treasurer. Ken Wilson has agreed
to take on the daunting task of overseeing the operations of the club.
Dave Miller will again act as liaison with the swim team. Kristine
Bagrosky has committed to managing our swim lesson program. Cathy
Smith will again be planning family activities and welcomes any ideas
for the upcoming season. We are pleased to announce the addition of
some new Board members. We welcome Greg Pappas as the incoming
secretary for 2010. Michele Amrhein will be overseeing our membership
committee. Jeff Kuzemchak will ensure our web site is updated as well
as keep our members informed of the latest NHSC news with our “email
blasts”. We appreciate their contributions and commitment. The entire
board has donated many hours of their time to the club management and
deserves our thanks and appreciation.
The
financial stability of the club remains sound despite the economic
environment. We are pleased we did not find it necessary to raise the
annual dues this year.
Some
purchases we have made include the purchase of a cover to protect our
pool throughout the winter months. We have also planned to upgrade pool
deck tables and umbrellas where necessary.
Each year, our Board spends numerous hours cleaning and preparing our
facility for the upcoming season. We encourage and need more membership
participation to assist with this clean up. We are planning our first
annual Spring cleanup the first weekend in May. The annual membership
cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, May 1st from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
In case of inclement weather, the cleanup will be re-scheduled for
Sunday May 2nd during the same hours. Five free guest passes will be
given to participating families who help with the cleanup. The more we
do as members of the club, the less we pay professionals which will in
turn, help control annual dues.
Please feel free to contact me or any board member with questions,
comments or suggestions. We wish everyone a great summer and encourage
everyone to follow the club rules. Please continue to treat our
lifeguards and club manager with respect so we all have another
enjoyable summer at the club.
Respectfully,
Stacey Jump
President
